Dear Valeries, Susan and Nancy,
June and Duwayne brought so much joy and enthusiasm for life with them to Texas! We met when they came to my design office to chose paint and wallpapers for their new home. The weather was awful--torrential rain and power outages that included the office. Undeterred, they carried by the light from the parking lot. June had great taste so the house was lovely even if some of the choices were something of a surprise.
We became good friends and had so many happy times. The dinner and swimming parties they gave were legendary. No one could come close to equalling June's dinners. Although swimming wasn't her favorite sport, June was the only woman I have met who looked elegant in a swimsuit, even a wet one.
It was with great sadness that I read of her death. Her legacy of love of life and kindness lives on in the memories of everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
