Monday, July 10th, 2006

Adri Reijm, 57, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Monday July 10, 2006 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley.
He was born on September 20, 1948 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the son of Jacobus Jake & Adrianna Reijm.
The family immigrated to California when Adri was a young child and he was raised there until they came to Skagit County in 1960, settling in Clear Lake where they operated a dairy farm and Adri attended school in Sedro-Woolley. A short time later they moved to a dairy farm north of Burlington and Adri graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1966. He then attended Bellingham Vocational Tech where he earned a degree in auto mechanics and restoration.
He returned to operate the family dairy farm, milking the cows and maintaining the farm equipment, working the farm for 16 years. He then worked as a mechanic and truck driver for Dan Hinds Logging, Northwest Hay Co., Carroll Mill and finally Olmsted Trucking. He enjoyed being a truck driver, but never fully got over the pain of losing the family dairy farm. He was a member of the Washington State Dairyman’s Association, Darigold and a member of the Sedro-Woolley Eagles Aerie 2069.
Adri was united in marriage to Marietta Eldridge in Las Vegas on September 15, 2003 and they have made their home in Sedro-Woolley.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, operating remote controlled airplanes and cars but especially enjoyed boating on Clear Lake and waterskiing and AirChairing whenever possible.
Adri is survived by his wife, Marietta at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His daughter, Connie Holboy of Alger and his son, Anthony Reijm of Sedro-Woolley. 2 grandchildren, Wesley & Abby Holboy. 4 step-children, Rick & Ronnie Eldridge, Randy Eldridge & his wife Kristin and Rusty Eldridge and his wife Bernetta. 13 step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessie, Jacob, Nicki, Rachel, Zachery, Jessica, Kelsie, Maxine, Dale, Jared, Samantha & Nevaeh. 4 brothers, Tom Reijm Caroland Bill Reijm Melissa all of Mount Vernon, Kenny Reijm Denise of Bow and Bob Reijm Theresa of Sedro-Woolley and 3 sisters, Mary Vanderpol in Kansas, Jackie Nelson Paul of Burlington and Rose Gordon Allen of Big Lake.
