Alan Dale Skiles, age 53, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away July 9, 2012, at Skagit Valley Hospital. He was born August 26, 1958, in Sedro-Woolley, to Harold Eugene and Gladys Lenora (Bear) Skiles.
Alan worked at Vern Sims Ford as a parts manager until his disability in 1985. After that he enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and train sets, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, friends and grandsons.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicole and her husband, Chad Walsh, of Arlington, and their children, Dylan and Evan, and Ashley Skiles, of Sedro-Woolley; sister, Mary and her husband Wayne Miller, of Utah; brother, Darrell and his wife, Sherilyn Skiles, of Big Lake; nephews, Bryan, Todd, Sean, Brett and Scott; nieces, Allison, Leana, Cindy and Lori, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Gladys Skiles.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 13, 2012, at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley, followed by a Graveside committal at Union Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Cannon officiating. A time of visitation will be available from 9 to 5, on Thursday at Lemley Chapel.

Nicole & family-
Alan was resident at Creekside when I met him. The front desk receptionist would have me deliver packages to Alan’s apartment. Alan was always kind & very upbeat. A true gentleman , I shall miss him.

We (Raynette & I) are so going to miss visiting with you when you came in to the office. We loved your pretend orneryness, and we always knew you were a sweetie pie anyway.

I lived across the street from Alan and his family as a child. I babysat his girls and help him after his accident.
You will be missed.

We visited with Alan each week of the 20 months we lived in Sedro Woolley and have visited with him on the phone since we moved. We really learned to love and appreciate him, and we miss the visits. He was truly a good and kind hearted man who loved his daughters and grandsons, his siblings and their children. We are happy for him to be free of all of the earthly trials he has had to endure, and we are certain that he is happy with loved ones on the other side of the veil.
