Alan Earl Blanton, age 55, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2006 at his home at Punkin Center.
He was born November 14, 1950 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the son of Robert and Joan Sutton Blanton.
Alan was a lifetime resident of Punkin Center, attending schools in Hamilton and Sedro-Woolley, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1969.
He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for many years. He worked for Crown Pacific of Hamilton and F-1 Enterprises in Oak Harbor, retiring in 2005.
He was a life time member of the Hamilton First Baptist Church and the Sedro-Woolley Eagles.
Alan was a very talented musician who has played music for most of his life. He has played with many different people in so many places, which was always a source of pride for him.
He had many interests, which included fishing, golfing, cooking always the camp cook, horseback riding, gardening and just about any form of car racing.
He was married to Peggy Lowery Holt on June 20, 1997 in Mount Vernon.
He was a wonderful husband, father, papa and a great friend. His children and grandbabies were the apple of his eye. With such a huge extended family, Alan always enjoyed family gatherings and anytime there was a chance for someone to ‘pull up a stump’ and just visit, he was in Heaven. Alan definitely enjoyed life to it’s fullest. He was always looking for a chance to educate one of us kids, whether it be a gardening tip or a recipe.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy of the family home at Punkin Center. 2 daughters, Bobbi Jo Whitlow and her husband, David of Marblemount and Michelle Brisson and her husband, Jason of Lyman. A step-daughter, Chrissi Holt and her fianc
