Dr. Albert E. Merritt, 79, a resident of the Marblemount community, went to be with his Lord unexpectedly on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born on December 10, 1926 in Oakland, California, the son of Alfred & Margaret Genevie Baker Merritt.
He was raised and attended school in Boville, ID, Klamath Falls, OR, Seattle, Tacoma and Yakima, WA.
Growing up during the depression, he had a paper route and among his deliveries was the last living Veteran of the Civil War. He enjoyed many adventures of hunting and fishing to help subsidize the family dinner table, duck hunting was always his favorite.
