Andrea M. Stave Henry, 80, a former Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Garden Terrace Retirement Center in Federal Way, WA.
She was born on May 19, 1926 in Burlington, Washington, the daughter of Larry & Lillian Hyldahl Stave. She was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, where at the high school she was a baton twirler, and she graduated with the class of 1944. She then attended the University of Washington.
Andrea worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney’s in Auburn for several years.
She also assisted at antique shows and worked in her daughter’s store, The Heier Echelon of Puyallup. Andrea raised her children in Seattle and Enumclaw until moving to Tacoma. She has made her home in Puyallup and Enumclaw for the past several years.
She enjoyed dancing and playing bingo; family outings and get togethers, especially with her grandchildren; camping and outdoor activities, and going to the movies and the horse races. She was also very active in senior activities in her community and a short while ago she modeled for senior fashion show.
Andrea is survived by her four children and their spouses, Judy & Richard Heier of Puyallup, Lori & Nigel Lewis of Kirkland, Sheri & Dan Anderson of St. Louis, MO and Chuck & Steffanie Henry of Seattle. 3 grandchildren, Dean Higgins, Lesa Greenwood and Alexander Lewis and 1 great-grandson, Dustynn Greenwood.
2 brothers, John Stave of Sedro-Woolley and Robert Stave and his wife, Jolane of Marysville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry & Lillian Stave and 2 sisters, Dorothy Greely and Evelyn Sizemore. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral Services for Andrea will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Lemley Chapel with Pastor Doug Stave of Tacoma officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
