Antoinette “Tonee” Jason

Monday, August 1st, 2016

Antoinette “Tonee” Bernice (Kaminski) Jason passed away peacefully at home on July 30th, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tonee was born February 28, 1926 in Clinton, Massachusetts to Bernice (Kowalewska) Kaminski and Stanley Joseph Kaminski.

She married Edmund John Jason in 1948, had two daughters Leslie and Cindy and they raised them in Connecticut.  When Ed retired, they moved to Burlington, WA, in 1980, on the Skagit Golf and Country Club.  There she enjoyed golfing, entertaining friends, spending lots of time with her granddaughters, Jenny and Lauren and traveling with friends and family.  Tonee loved playing the slot machines at the casinos all the way up to July 12, 2016, her last time, and getting together with the Red Hatters.  She volunteered for 25 years at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley and at the Skagit Valley Hospital.  Tonee lived life to the fullest until the end.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Stanley Kaminski, Frances (Kaminski) Tibbetts; Frank Kaminski, and Agnes (Kaminski) Egan.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edmund John Jason; siblings, Wanda (Kaminski) Vaghini, Edward Kaminski and his wife Lee, Irene (Kaminski) Abramowicz; daughters, Leslie (Jason) Sloan and husband, Milton Sloan, Cindy (Jason) Rieck and husband, Larry Rieck; her two granddaughters, Jennifer (Sloan) Copley and husband Joe Copley, and Lauren Sloan.

A special thank you to Home Attendant Care, Inc and Skagit Hospice for caring for her so kindly in the end.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Jim Dalton at 11:00, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Saint Charles Catholic Church, 935 Peterson Road, Burlington, WA, followed by a Graveside Committal Service at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery, Burlington and a reception at Saint Charles.

So happy I got to do the ride out there with you in 1980. Stopping outside of Chicago to stretch our legs, and the garder snake slithering in front of us. Of all people, you with your fear of snakes. People thought I was hurting you with your loud screams,Easters at your home where great when we were young. How you cried when you said goodbye to Uncle Stan in the driveway, when we were starting our trip northwest. Picking cactus plants in the median in Wyoming, while waiting for Uncle Ed to get a belt for his car.3,100 miles in six days. How you waited for Paulie and I, all night at the Seatle Airport, until our flight arrived. You always remembered Birthdays. Thankyou for showing me how life should be. We have a great family and I love you all. Thanks Uncle Ed. Thankyou Milt , Les and Cyn. Jenny and Lauren. Sorry I can’t be with you guys . I’ll be with you in Spirit until we meet up again . We are a strong Family.
