Barbara Dills Mayville, 59, of Sedro-Woolley and Shelton, passed away September 1, 2008 at her home in Shelton.
Born July 25, 1949 in Franklin, NC, Barbara was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon H. Dills, Sr. of Sedro-Woolley. ‘Bobbi’ as she was known to family and friends made the long cross country journey from North Carolina to Washington along with her family in early 1961.
Bobbi was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had the unique ability to make any place truly a warm and inviting home. Bobbi’s smile and laughter will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Bobbi was part of a large, loving, southern family, survivors include her two sons: John Stephens Blevins and Michael Blevins and wife, Lisa of Shelton. Her much loved grandchildren: John Stephens of Bellingham; Jesse Blevins, Katlynn Blevins, Ronnie Penn, Blake Blevins, Austin Penn, Olivia Blevins and Bryce Penn all of Shelton. Her five brothers: Gordon R. Dills, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Hamilton; Douglas Dills and wife, Barbara, Wade Dills and wife Kay and Scott Dills and wife Venise all of Sedro-Woolley and Michael S. Dills of Vancouver. Her sisters: Inez Dills Sullivan and husband Michael of Rochester and Norma Dills Trueman and husband Chuck of Lyman. And by her many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Doris Dills Clark of Hamilton and Carolyn Dills Hein of Sedro-Woolley and by her granddaughter Lacy Stephens.
A celebration of Bobbi’s life will be on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship Church, 118 North Ball Street, in Sedro-Woolley. Reverend David Hodgin of Chimacum will be officiating.
Private inurnment at the Hamilton Cemetery will be at a later date.
