Burdette G. ‘BG’ Gregory, age 88, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at a care center in Tacoma, WA. He was born June 22, 1919 in Concrete, WA, the son of William and Retta Gregory.
BG was a longtime resident of Concrete and Sedro-Woolley, later moving to Olympia in 1999. He owned and operated Gregory Products Shingle Mill in Concrete and Northwest Hydraulics in Burlington for many years.
During WWII, BG served with the US Navy Seabees and after the war, he was married to Iris Stephens on September 22, 1946 in Concrete and they celebrated 60 years together. He was a past commander of George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion, a past commodore of the Swinomish Yacht Club, and a volunteer fireman in Concrete for many years.
BG coached little league and pony league baseball while his sons where growing up and he was a longtime football ticket holder for University of Washington football games. He and Iris spent many years boating around Puget Sound.
BG is survived by his wife Iris Gregory of Olympia and a son Roger Gregory and his wife Jo of Olympia. Two grandchildren, Jenni Fournier and her husband Ryan and their son Cooper, Jeff Gregory and his wife Brittany and their daughter Logan all of Olympia. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Rob, two brothers, Bill and Harold and a sister Fern.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 1:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Jim Cannon of Bethel Assembly of God Church officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
