Carol C. Mulholland, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born April 6, 1924 in Mascot, Nebraska, the daughter of Claude and Isabel Tanner Menagh.
Carol was raised and attended school in Nebraska and during WWII, she worked as a stenographer at Karney Air Base where she met her future husband, Richard Mulholland. They were married February 28, 1945 in Karney, Nebraska and this year, they celebrated 61 years of marriage together.
She and Dick came to Sedro-Woolley in 1949 where she helped Dick open his optometry practice and they resided here where she raised her family. In 1979, they moved to Burlington residing at the Skagit Golf & Country Club.
Carol enjoyed playing bridge, working with ceramics, and being involved with the country club activities. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church and Skagit Golf & Country Club. A highlight of her life was every February for the past 27 years, she and Dick would go to Hawaii for a month. Most of all, she enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Mulholland of Burlington. Her children, Larry Mulholland and his wife, Kathy of Sedro-Woolley, JoAnn Mulholland of Burlington, and Mark Mulholland and his wife, Karla of Sedro-Woolley. 2 grandchildren, Kim Turner of Burlington and Kristy Hannan of Sedro-Woolley and 6 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jordan, Madison, Collin, Skyler, and Abby. 2 brothers, Merlin Menagh of Shell Knob, Missouri and Hal Menagh of California.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 2:00PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Wendy Tingley of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating.
