Christine Lydia Browning, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at her home in Clear Lake with her loving family at her side.
She was born on May 14, 1931 in Clear Lake, Washington the daughter of Hugh and Alice Goode McDaniel.
She grew up in the Clear Lake area where she attended grade school and then graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1949.
Christine was united in marriage to Carl Browning on January 14, 1950 in Clear Lake and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley for many years until moving back to Clear Lake in 2001.
She worked as a bus driver for the Sedro-Woolley School District for many years. Christine enjoyed traveling, especially the Arizona Desert and walking in the local mountains and beaches. She collected interesting rocks and wood formations and added these to the home landscaping. Christine was an enthusiastic amateur photographer and skilled sketch and oil artist. She loved reading and listening to all kinds of music, especially Bluegrass.
Christine is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carl at the family home in Clear Lake. Her children, Fred, Gary, Debra and Terri Browning.
4 grandchildren; Soren Browning, Sarah Roy, Doug Browning and William Walsh. 2 brothers; Jim and Alvin McDaniels; 2 sisters; Nancy Lanphere and Louise Dorsey and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh & Alice.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 2:00PM at the Greenhills Memorial Cemetery in Burlington with Pastor John Batts of the Clear Lake Baptist Church officiating. A reception will follow at the Clear Lake Baptist Church. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Hospice, PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
