Crystal D. ‘Hooper’ McNeill, age 40, passed away unexpectedly into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2006 in Torrance, CA.
She was born on November 16, 1965 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the daughter of Arnold Hooper and Mae Dorsey Hooper.
Chris was a lifetime resident of Skagit Valley, attending school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1984 where she was a cheerleader. She resided in Mount Vernon and Burlington for many years and for the past nine years, she has resided in Anacortes. Chris worked as a waitress for many years and she also worked at Blade Chevrolet where she was the first women car salesperson. Chris was married to Gene McNeill in Anacortes on August 28, 1999.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, camping, going to the beach, and she loved spending time with her friends. Chris attended His Place Church in Burlington and the Salvation Army Church in Anacortes for many years. Chris was a free and caring spirit who will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Gene McNeill at the family home in Anacortes. Her children, Jordyn Dargitz and Austin McNeill of Anacortes. Her mother, Mae Hooper of Sedro-Woolley and her father, Arnold Hooper and his wife, Selah of Orofino, ID. Two brothers, Bill Hooper of Sedro-Woolley and Chuck Hooper of Concrete. A sister, Becky Johnson and her husband Steve of Bow. Nieces and nephews, Brian Self and Bristal Johnson, Brandy, Beau, and Samantha Hooper, Calib Hooper, and Arron and Adriaan Castro.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 2:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 17, 2006 from 2PM to 8PM at Lemley Chapel. Memorials and donations are suggested to the Crystal Hooper McNeill Memorial Fund for her Children c/o Lemley Chapel 1008 Third St Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.
