Darlene Adelle Hammond passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the age of 89.
She was born on August 29, 1926 in Montpilier, Idaho the daughter of Berle and Evaline Palmer. She married John Hammond in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1984. They were blessed with 3 children, John ‘Jack’, Kay and Sandy.
Darlene moved to Mount Vernon in 1952 with her husband John and children. She moved to Bow ten years ago to be closer to her daughter Sandy.
She worked as a waitress for years, working at Crane’s, Middies and The Palace Café.
She is survived by her children, John ‘Jack’ Hammond and his wife Mary of West Jordan, Utah, Kay Shaffer, of Sedro-Woolley, WA and Sandy Wibbens, of Bow, WA; her brother, Jerry Palmer, of West Valley, Utah; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00pm at His Place Community Church in Burlington. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
