    My Grandfather was David DuVarney married to Marie, they lived in Worcester had a beauty shop with my dad Donald DuVarney, perhaps in the 50’s if I remember correctly.

    ” Some birds aren’t meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they’re gone.”

    Rest well, Denise. You will be missed.

  • Amber Girotti (Hemenway)

    We have been friends since the beginning of school and many years after. I always looked forward to reconnecting with you and your family every summer. We had SO much fun together. You were magic behind the camera, but had the beauty and glow to be in front of it. I am crushed to be writing this for someone so young and full of life. There will be an empty place in our hearts and in the chair at Birdstock.
    Jason and I love you.

  • Carol Bostrom Burkholder (aunt)

    Oh Niecy (as Grandpa B used to always call you since you were little)I guess I picked that up from him. What a special woman!
    You always found something to smile about and so enjoyed your photography,so involved in so many opportunities to show others your talents. From the animals to your daughter and her sports,to senior pictures and especially the last days of your moms life. How beautiful and such a talent that will never be forgotten. I loved you so much and enjoyed the times we could share things and you always made me laugh. I will surely miss all that but will always have those memories to keep in my heart❤
    Rest in peace angel😇

    Denise always had a grin or a smile on her face, whether she was doing something fun or going to get someone back for something they did to her. She always had time for a conversation with someone. Helped who ever she could, when she could. Had a huge heart of gold. She will be missed by all.

    Denise , the free spirit of our family. She was so contagious. She would walk in a room and everyone present would catch the warm loving feeling she presented. She was so passionate about life just like her mother. She was the wild child you could not help but love and her sense of humor and explosive laugh made her such a joy to be around. Denise you gave so much of yourself to all of us and we will miss you so very much. Find peace in heaven now and your creative photography will inspire and be shared by those you blessed with your talent forever.

    Cathie, Dan, Mike, and girls;
    I am so sorry for your loss. Denise was such a huge figure in the class of ’92, CHS, and had an amazing spirit. It continued through her daughters, and her lens. I’ve loved seeing purple and gold through the years after high school, and seeing upriver as an adult through her photography.

    I cannot remember a time in my life I did not know her.

    She will be missed.
