Dennis Hansen

Dennis Neil Hansen, 66, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Skagit Valley Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on September 25, 1945 in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Leo & Opal (Cose) Hansen.  He was raised and attended school in Denison, Iowa where he worked on the family farm since a young man.  After his education he devoted his life to farming, both cattle and crops.

Dennis was united in marriage to Jane Boos in Denison on June 7, 1969 and they made their home there until moving to Colorado in 1972, living there for five years, returning to Denison until 1984 when the family moved to the Skagit Valley.  Dennis then worked in the dairy industry for a while until he graduated from Skagit Valley College with a degree in Building Maintenance and worked as a maintenance supervisor at the Mount Vernon Mall, the Townsend Mall in Marysville and for a variety of business around the Skagit Valley.

Dennis and Jane enjoyed RVing, they are involved in the Harvest Mission Ministry and Dennis was active in Promise Keepers and Men of the Cross.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Jane at the family home in Sedro-Woolley; his son and daughter-in-law, Aaron & Melissa Hansen and their children, Jonathan, Charles and Emily of Sedro-Woolley.  His sister, Kathleen Bral and her husband Clayton of Council Bluff, Iowa and three nieces, Jennifer, Jessica and Kelly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant son, Jared Joseph Hansen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lemley Chapel on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 3:00 PM with Pastor George Henson of Harvest Vision Ministries officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
