Dolly L. Tompkins, 82, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away surrounded by her family on January 24, 2018 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley.
Dolly was born on June 4, 1935 in Hinsdale, MT, the daughter of Thomas & Leola (Richter) Hentz. She was raised in Great Falls, MT until the family moved to the Georgetown area of Seattle in 1941. She attended and graduated from Garfield High School.
On August 28, 1954 Dolly was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Ray Tompkins and they lived in the Madison Park area until moving to Bremerton in 1956. From 1966 to 1970 they resided with their children in Japan and Singapore, returning state side to Poulsbo, WA for 10 years, to Maine for 2 years, to Bothell, WA for 10 years and finally settling in Sedro-Woolley in 1992.
Dolly worked briefly as a beautician and at the local restaurant and bakery for a while when living in Seattle, but was mostly a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and helped Ray on the construction sites of their new homes he built for her.
Dolly is survived by her husband of 63 year, Ray at the family home in Sedro-Woolley; her children and their spouses, Tom & Robin Tompkins of Silverdale, Raylynn & Duane Pavelich of Chilliwack, BC, Canada and Renee & Ron Kitchener of Sedro-Woolley; her daughter-in-law, Barb Tompkins of Snohomish; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonny Peterson and her son, David on January 2, 2018.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the North Cascades Christian Fellowship Church in Sedro-Woolley. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
