Donna Josephine (Krieger) Allen, 84, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at home with family by her side in Mount Vernon, Washington.

She was born on October 30, 1933 in Burlington, WA to Henry and Josephine (Lewis) Krieger. Donna grew up in Mount Vernon attending school and graduating from Mount Vernon High School.

Donna married Darrel Wayne Allen on August 13, 1954 in Mount Vernon and they resided in Clear Lake, WA. This is where they built their first home and raised their family.

Donna worked at Northern State Hospital, Burton’s Nursing home, Burlington School District and at the Allen Grade School as a custodian. She was the first lady custodian for the Burlington School District. She was very proud of her achievement. She then moved to Lopez, WA and worked for the Lopez Island School District as custodian until she retired.

Donna resided at Lopez Island for 15 years and for 15 years in Tokeland, WA. After Darrel’s death she moved to Woodland, WA. Her final days were spent in Mount Vernon, WA with family.

Donna loved crocheting, loved making a special blanket for all of her grand-babies, clam digging and was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed camping, but most of all she loved to spend time with all her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of Nature Conservatory and for many years she sponsored two children to attend camp sponsored by the Salvation Army.
