Donna Louise Sharples, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:10pm in Bellingham, WA at Peace Health St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 1, 1943 in Walla Walla, WA the daughter of Evans and Freda Baxter. Her family moved to Burlington, WA where she grew up.
In 1958 she married James Sharples of Lincoln, Nebraska. Donna was left a young widow and mother of four in 1972, she never remarried. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her children and grandchildren, and will be missed by all.
Donna is survived by her children: James Sharples, Jr. of San Diego, WA, Grant Sharples (Vanona) of Mustang Island, TX, Timothy Sharples of Sedro Woolley, WA, Katharine E. Helmick (Michael) of Bellingham, WA; brother, Bert Baxter of Waitesburg, WA; grandsons, Anthony Sands, Benjamen Sharples, and Christopher Helmick; granddaughters, Ashe Sands, Nicole Hurschi, Christina Webb, Kaylee Helmick, Chelsea Helmick; as well as three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; father, Evans; Mother, Freda; brothers, Grant E. and Tyndel W. Baxter.
Per Donna’s wishes there will not be any funeral services.
Wow, sorry to here of Donnas passing. Your dad James was stationed with my dad. I remember her gardens, picking out big green tomato worms.
Donna was such an amazing person inside and out. She raised my brother and I growing up and thought us so much. I remember walking home from school at lunch time and she would make me such wonderful lunches. She would also bring us salmon jerky home when she would go out, which she wouldn’t do very often because she wanted to make sure she was always there for us. Donna was a confidant, friend, mother, daughter ect no one could or will ever compare to her. Heaven gained an phenomenal one of a kind angel?
