Dorothy Marie Galbreath, 62, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at her home in Lyman, WA with her family at her side.
She was born March 27, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Edwin and Frieda Kiehn.
Dorothy grew up and attended school in the Lansing, IL area and later attended college in Upland, CA, majoring in culinary arts. She was united in marriage to Fred Galbreath on October 18, 1962 in Lansing, IL and they have resided in Lyman since that time.
Dorothy worked as a teacher’s aide for the Sedro-Woolley School District for 18 years.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, and especially enjoyed working on crafts such as knitting, crocheting, and painting.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Galbreath and her son, Ed Galbreath at the family home in Lyman, and by a sister, Jean Zandstra of Lansing, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Frank in 2000.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wendy Tingley from Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. A reception will follow the services at Lemley Chapel. Private family interment will be at the Lyman Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Hospice. Services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel.
