Drendia Lee Koski, age 61, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at her home in Sedro-Woolley with her husband of 46 years and her family at her side.
She was born on April 29, 1946 in Sedro-Woolley the daughter of Earl ‘Wimpy’ and Edna Parker Ashe.
Drendia grew up and attended school in Sedro-Woolley. She was married to Gary Koski on December 26, 1961 in Mount Vernon.
For many years, she worked at InterWest Bank and later for Land Title and Foothills Toyota. In her work and her personal life, Drendia exhibited vitality, energy, a positive personality, and sense of loyalty to all.
Along with her family, she was an active member of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. She enjoyed duck and pheasant hunting, camping, snowmobiling, horseback riding, reading, knitting, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping and will be remembered for always looking for the perfect pair of shoes.
Drendia is survived by her husband, Gary Dee Koski, Sr. of the family home in Sedro-Woolley; her daughter, Lisa Lee Koski of Mukilteo, and her son Gary Dee Koski, Jr. of Sedro-Woolley and Sitka, AK. 2 grandchildren; Justin Gary Kalt of Anacortes and Rachel Lee Koski-Kalt of Lakewood, WA. Her mother, Edna Woollen of Sedro-Woolley. 2 sisters, Billie Good and her husband Louis of Sedro-Woolley and Margaret Norris of Mount Vernon and a brother, Jack Shelton and his wife Randi of Burlington. Numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Ashe, a grandson, Matthew David, a niece, Sheree Good, and a brother-in-law, Red Norris.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on held Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Rick Miles of the Day Creek Chapel officiating. Inurnment will be in the Veterans Section of the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Service Office PO Box 271 Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.
