Elsie Viola Pressley passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 26, 2007.
Elsie, also lovingly known as Viola was born on January 13, 1934 in Asheville, North Carolina. She and Charles L. Pressley were married on September 8, 1951 in Greenville, South Carolina and moved to Washington in 1953 to raise their family and make their home in the Skagit Valley.
Viola was preceded in death by her father and mother, Fred and Delia Taylor; brothers, Mark and Marvin; sisters, Ethel and Aretha; granddaughter, Tracy Pressley; grandson, Josh Goodrow; and
great-granddaughter, Sarah Dickinson. Viola’s life was an unending testimony of faithfulness and love to her family, her friends and to God. She loved gardening, cooking, canning, country music, sewing, camping, reading her bible and spending time with
her family and friends.
She welcomed everyone into her life and home with open arms and there was always enough love and great food to go around. She loved us all
unconditionally and she will be sorely missed.
Viola is survived by her husband, Charlie Pressley; brother, JD Taylor; son & daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Pressley; daughter & son-in-law,
Delia Gail & Zach Billings; daughter & son-in-law, Sherrie & Ron Dickinson; daughter & son-in-law, Nancy & Chet Goodrow. She also leaves behind six adoring grandchildren, Randi Kemp, James Pressley, Kathy
Mitchell, Jeremy Baker, Ronnie Dickinson, Charlie Dickinson and nine beloved great-grandchildren along with a huge extended family.
Visitation will be available at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley on Saturday, September 29, from 1-3pm. A celebration of life potluck for all of Viola’s friends & family will be held on Sunday, September 30, at 1:00pm at Larry and Linda Pressley’s at 39701 Cape Horn Rd., Birdsview.
