Ernest D. Hinds, age 75, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2007 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
He was born June 10, 1931 in Arlington, WA, the son of Bert and Mabel Bales Hinds.
Ernest has been a resident of Sedro-Woolley since 1993, coming here from Eastern Washington where he resided for many years, working as a welder for Pibus Steel.
He was married to Patsy Metcalf on June 18, 1994 at Lake Quinault, WA. Ernest served with the US Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Eagles and VFW and he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and working around his home.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Patsy Hinds at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. 3 daughters; Sally Thomsen of Acampo, CA, Louise Golden, and Cathy Stillmunkes both of Stockton, CA. 3 step-sons; Gordon Schulze of East Wenatchee, Bill Lewis of Sedro-Woolley, and Tom Jenkins of Lyman and 2 step-daughters; Mary Ashbrook of Wenatchee and Judy Brock of Sedro-Woolley. Also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A brother, Roy Hinds and his wife, Mary Jean of Yakima and a sister, Mary Neiche and her husband, George of Sedro-Woolley. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ernie and a brother Emerson.
Graveside inurnment services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Ron Edwards of the Hamilton Baptist Church officiating and with military honors by members of George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
