Everett C. “Buzz” DeLano, was born on July 29, 1948 in Sunnyside, WA the son of Thurston G. and Doris I. (Hoggatt) DeLano. As a young boy he moved to Kent where he was raised and attended school. During his junior year he attended Sedro-Woolley High School, returning to Kent-Meridian High School to graduate with his class in 1966. For many years he worked in the construction industry alongside his father. He operated an auto body and paint shop for the past 12 years, and during the summer for the past 10 years he operated a food concession stand at major state and county fairs around the state. He enjoyed antique cars, hunting, music, and was an avid all sports fan. Buzz died on Monday, March 2, 1998 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was 49 years of age. He is survived by his son, Clayton DeLano; daughter and son-in-law, April and Dale Archer; father Thurston DeLano; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Lowell Engberg; brother, Larry DeLano; granddaughters, Krysten and Myranda Archer all living in Sedro-Woolley. A close high school friend, Bruce Davis of Kent; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris in 1995 and a brother, Thurston “Bud” DeLano in 1977.
