Florence (Westcott) Scott Walton

Monday, May 1st, 2017

Florence (Westcott) Scott Walton, 92, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on April 22, 2017.
Florence was born on July 28, 1924 in Onamia, Minnesota to Charles & Augusta Westcott. Affectionately nicknamed “Squeek”, she was the youngest of seven siblings, they are Gladys, Almeda, Mary, Margaret, Charles, Alden and George.
Music was a big part of Florence’s childhood. Squeek played piano and enjoyed singing with her sisters and beloved nieces, Judy and Kimberly.
Florence was united in marriage to Elmer “Big Mike” Scott in Paris Texas on February 20, 1945. They raised their sons in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and later moved to the Skagit Valley in 1983.
Florence was an avid spinner, weaver, knitter, reader and crossword puzzler. There was always a pot of coffee on and a plate of cookies or a box of chocolates to share. She loved to “coffee klatch” with her neighbors and she was quick to make friends wherever she went.
Florence is survived by her three brilliant sons, Michael (Nancy), Timothy (Kathleen) and Jon (Linda); four precious grandchildren, Zachariah (Susan), Meaghan, Nicholas (Sarah) and Leah (Joe), and a beautiful great-grandson Sammy. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Connie; husbands Elmer Scott and Willis Walton; her six siblings and special friend Ray Eaton.
Squeek will be greatly missed by her family in Wisconsin, her friends at Country Meadow Village and any precious child that ever met her.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Country Meadow Village and at United General Hospital for the love, care and respect they showed Florence.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
