Genevee “Gen” Elizabeth (Teachman) Schloemer went to be with the Lord March 4, 2017.  She was 94.  She was born May 7, 1922 to Floyd and Pearl Teachman in Bow, Washington.

Gen graduated from Burlington High School in 1940, the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1941, and Mount Vernon Junior College in 1943.

She married Eugene Schloemer July 22, 1943.  While he served in WWII, she taught school in Montana.

Her passion for dahlias grew into a family business, known as Skagit Heights Dahlia Farm.  Additionally, she enjoyed making floral arrangements for many weddings.  She loved to oil paint, draw and make stained glass windows for her church.  She was a long standing member of Edison Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and taught Sunday school.  She was also a member of the Bow Church.

Gen is survived by her children, Gene (Jayne) Schloemer, LeRoy (Jewel) Schloemer and Marcella (Peter) Voolich; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years, two brothers, Joe and Jim Teachman.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00, Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Edison Lutheran Church, 14201 Church Road, Bow, with Pastor Larry Olsen presiding.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice or Edison Lutheran Church.
