Harold D. Moses, 65, a member and resident of the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born on November 19, 1940 at Tulalip, Washington, the son of Upper Skagit Tribe members, Richard B. Moses & Violet I. Lyle.
Harold was raised and attended school in Kent. He also attended and graduated from Walla Walla Community College with a Associate Arts degree.
Harold made his home in the Lakewood area near Tacoma where for many years he worked as an apartment manager and grounds maintenance manager. He had also worked for Burlington Northern Railroad loading and unloading boxcars. In 2000 he moved to the Sedro-Woolley area to be near his family.
He is survived by his mother, Violet Fernando of Sedro-Woolley. His longtime companion, Elaine Cady of Olalla, WA. 5 sisters, Linnette Hernandez of Sedro-Woolley, Doreen Maloney of Mount Vernon, Beverley Lemen of SeaTac, Rosie Snyder of Kent and Carmella Fernando of Sedro-Woolley. 5 brothers, Dennis Fernando of Kent, Jim Fernando of Sedro-Woolley, Victor Fernando of Kent, Andy Fernando of Yelm, David Fernando of La Conner and many many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Moses, Sr., step-father, Fred Fernando. 2 brothers, Richard Moses, Jr. and Eddie Fernando. Nephew, Freddie Fernando and great-nephew, Anthony Scott Hernandez.
Prayer Services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 7:00 PM at the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe Recreational Center followed by a Funeral Service on Tuesday August 22nd at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Hamilton Indian Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
