Helen M. Mullen, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born October 18, 1921 in Burnett, WA, the daughter of H.G. and Mildred MacDonald. Helen and her family moved to Anacortes in 1935 and she graduated from Anacortes High School.
She was married to Jack Mullen on April 27, 1946 in Anacortes and they later moved to Sedro-Woolley in 1954. Helen worked as a bookkeeper for Goodyear Nelson Hardwood Lumber Co for 20 years.
She will be remembered for her love of her husband Jack and her family. Helen enjoyed her friends and flowers and she was known for her hospitality.
She is survived by her daughters Marilyn Mullen of Seattle and Judy LaFreniere and her husband Robert of Chandler, AZ. Two grandchildren Jennifer Drum and her husband Patrick and their daughter Emily of Tacoma and Jamie LaFreniere and her son Tyler Ray of Gilbert, AZ. Two sisters Bess Dennis and her husband Bud of Portland, OR and Jean Canfield and her husband Bill of Olympia, WA. Numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack in April of 2003, a sister Dorothy Roeder, and three brothers Walt, Alex, and George MacDonald.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wendy Tingley of Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. A reception will follow the services at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles Club. Inurnment will follow at a later date at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
