Hilbert Heffele, age 90, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Bichview Memory Care in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.
He was born July 26, 1918 in Butte, North Dakota to George and Maria Keller Heffele.
Hilbert was a resident of Sedro-Woolley since 1956 and formally resided in Grotto, WA. He was married to Alta Seltveit on October 8, 1941 in Turtle Lake, ND and they celebrated 67 years together. For 23 years, Hilbert worked for the Federal Civil Service as a heavy equipment mechanic at NAS Whidbey. Hilbert enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending 20 years in Yuma, AZ as snowbirds, and watching Seattle Mariner Baseball Games.
He is survived by his wife Alta Heffele and his son, Richard Heffele and his wife Anne all of Sedro-Woolley. Two grandchildren; Trisha Holmgren and her husband Craig of Mount Vernon and Bridget Heffele of Sedro-Woolley. Three great-grandchildren; Rochelle Holmgren of Hood River, OR and Kyler and Jadyn Holmgren both of Mount Vernon. A nephew; Lonnie Brokofski of Medford, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Angeline.
A Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Skagit Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Birchview Memory Care and Skagit Hospice for the care given to Hilbert. Arrangements and cremation under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
