Inger Johnston, age 81, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, Washington. She was born February 4, 1927 in Denmark to Johan and Kathrina Pederson Baasch.
Inger grew up in Denmark and came to the United States in 1955 at age 28 settling in Nebraska. She resided there for two years until she met and married Edgar Johnston. They moved to Seattle and resided there until 1972 when they moved to the Sauk River area between Rockport and Darrington where they built a home. After Edgar’s death in 1983, she remained there until 1990 when she moved to the Sedro-Woolley area. Inger loved to play cards and board games and she enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Leo Madsen of Denmark and two nephews, Per and Bo Madsen of Denmark.
In the past years, Inger’s closest friends were Arsenia Pratt of Sedro-Woolley, David Jones of South Skagit, Joyce Allen of Woodinville, and her special friend and companion Charles Cope of Sedro-Woolley.
At Inger’s request there are to be no services. Cremation arrangements under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
