Irene Tatham Marquardt, age 87, a longtime resident of the Hamilton area passed away Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the Bellingham Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on May 21, 1918 in Sterling, WA between Sedro-Woolley and Burlington the daughter of Irvin and Lena Cannon Tatham.
Irene grew up in the Hamilton area where she was baptized into the Methodist Episcopal Church in Hamilton on June 15, 1930. She graduated from the Hamilton High School on May 28, 1936. Irene was married three times and lived and worked in California, Reno, NV, Alaska, and Washington state as a bartender. Irene lived out the last years of her life in the family home in Hamilton with her family of many cats and dogs.
For the past eight months she has resided at the Bellingham Health Care Center in Bellingham.
Irene is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ralph, Louis, and Harry and three sisters, Margaret, Katherine, and Ethel.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 12:00 PM at the Hamilton First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Osborne officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of Skagit Valley. Arrangements and cremation under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
