Irene May Winge, age 69, passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 at the United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, WA. She was born December 15, 1936 in Anacortes, WA, the daughter of Prince Albert and Mary Noise Hinds.
Irene grew up in Anacortes and resided there until moving to Concrete 13 years ago. She was married to John Winge on August 13, 1971 in Anacortes.
She enjoyed crafting, painting, cake decorating, and doing anything creative with her hands. She was a musician playing guitar and singing at retirement communities and convalescent centers in the Skagit Valley. She also was a member of the musical group ‘Wild Women of Woolley’. Her family and the love of God were the most important things to her.
She is survived by her husband John Winge of Concrete. Her children, James P. Kelley and his wife Lori of Camano Island, Kathy Bye and her husband David of Saskatchewan, Canada, William Destil West and his wife Diane of Burlington, Janice Irene Borgman of Sedro-Woolley, Russell Lee West and his wife Linda of Mount Vernon, John Earl Winge of Minnesota, Lisa Marie Winge, and Cobi Lynn Winge of Anacortes. Her brothers, Don Hinds and his wife Karen of Lyman, Bill Hinds and his wife Donna of Sedro-Woolley, and a sister Carol Hasenbalg and her husband Frank of Coos Bay, OR. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Bruce.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley for the special care given to Irene.
Graveside Inurnment Services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Anacortes with Mr. Jimmy Garner of Anacortes officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Hamilton Food Bank. Arrangements under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
