James Christian Fuchser, 78, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away at his home on Monday, March 13, 2006.
He was born on November 19, 1927, in Clipper, Washington, the son of Christian & Ella Widmer Fuchser.
He was raised and attended schools in the Mount Baker School District in Whatcom County.
He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. He returned to Whatcom County after his discharge where he worked in the timber industry, owning his own logging company for several years.
He enjoyed traveling, gold panning and vegetable gardening.
He is survived by 3 sons, Charles Fuchser Shelley of Port Angeles, WA, Daniel Fuchser Lally of Aberdeen, WA and Jeffery Fuchser of Bellingham, WA; 6 daughters, Kristi Vanselow David of Bellingham, WA, Evelyn Fuchser Mike McKinstry of Orcas Island, WA, Linda Fuchser of Oregon, Carol Fuchser-Burns David Burns of Olympia, WA, Cindy Fuchser Bill Lekas of California and Rachelle Fuchser-Crosson Dean Crosson of New Westminster, B.C.; 3 sisters, Elvena Isert Lyle of Bellingham, WA, Nancy Healy Bruce of Sumner, WA and Dorothy Handy Ken of Sedro-Woolley, WA; 1 brother, Fred Fuchser of Kent, WA. 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 daughters.
Private inurnment will be at the Saxon Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
