James David Hall, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2006 in Mount Vernon, Washington, after a long illness.
The beloved son of James and Ruth Hall of Lakewood, WA, and the beloved brother of Betty Merken of Seattle, WA, he was born on January 27, 1942 in Sylva, NC. Jim graduated from Arlington High School in 1960 and served in the United States Air Force at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA from 1960-1964, when he received an honorable discharge. He was most recently employed by The Systematic Corporation of Kirkland, WA, where he was head maintenance technician and was later manager. Prior to that he was supervisor for Depaul Logging Corporation in North Bend, WA.
Jim is also survived by the following beloved family and extended family: His nephew, Aaron Merken of Boulder, CO, his brother-in-law, Stefan Merken of Seattle, his maternal aunt and uncle, Inajean & David Buchanan of Darrington, WA, his four cousins, David Buchanan of Sedro-Woolley, WA, Roger Buchanan and his children, Luke, Amy, and Isaac of Darrington, Sally Schlosser and her son Jacob Schlosser of Bonney Lake, WA, Audrey King of Candler, NC; his five paternal aunts and their families, Mavis Buchanan of Warner, GA, Geneva Cabe of Sylva, NC, Dorothy Lou Dalton and Pauline Teague of Gastonia, NC, and Ann Hall of South Port, NC; his longtime partner, Wilma Pressley of Concrete, WA, and Chinook, his devoted Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
Jim enjoyed his numerous friends and he loved to cook, garden, and just be outdoors fishing and duck hunting.
Jim, we will miss you deeply and we will always love and remember you for your courage, your generous spirit, your warmth and caring, your contagious sense of humor and upbeat optimism, your deep love of life and nature, and your fun loving spirit and idealistic approach to life. You have enriched all our lives beyond measure.
Memorials are suggested to the Darrington Fire Dept., Ambulance Fund, Memorial Dinner Fund or the Old Time Country Music Assoc. of Everett.
Private family Graveside Inurnment services will be held at the Darrington Cemetery on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 12:30 pm, followed by a Memorial Gathering at 2:00 pm at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Avenue.
Cremation arrangements and services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
