James “Jim” Franklin Vlahovich, 91, of Sedro-Woolley passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Burlington. He was born to Matthew and Mary Vlahovich on May 10, 1925, in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. He was married to Joan Hill on September 3, 1955, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley.
Jim was a life-long resident of Sedro-Woolley. He attended school in the Sedro-Woolley School District and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed at Shell Oil Refinery in Anacortes for over 30 years until retiring in 1986. Jim enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, gardening, and loved watching all kinds of sports on television.
He is survived by two sons, Paul (Claudia) Vlahovich and Jim Jr. (Cindy) Vlahovich; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Vlahovich, in November 2015.
An open house will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the home of Paul Vlahovich, 10161 Cummings Drive, Sedro-Woolley, WA as a time to remember and celebrate Jim’s life. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel.
