Jessie Leona Wenrich, 88, passed away, Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Clayton House in Sedro Woolley.
She was born October 22, 1919, in Chesterland, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Jessie Davis. Jessie grew up in Ohio and married Fred “Fritz” Wenrich on October 21, 1941 in Gates Mills, Ohio. Jessie and Fritz resided in Colorado after her husband’s discharge from the army and then moved to Rockport, WA in December of 1946. Jessie and Fritz moved to Marblemount, WA in 1960 and made Marblemount their home till 2005. They then moved to Sedro Woolley, WA in July of 2005.
Jessie is survived by her daughter, Linda Vermilye and husband Michael of Redmond, WA; two grandchildren Leanne Easterling and her husband James of Sultan, WA, and Lindsey Benedetti and Brady of Bothell, WA; and two grandchildren Carson James and Colby Lee Easterling of Sultan, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jessie is also survived by two sisters Alda Maskin and Dorothy Ingrahm both of Ohio along with a brother Walter Davis also of Ohio.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Nellie Barnard, Francis Madole, Margaret Thornfield, and Verna Grannell and three brothers, Stanley, Roger, and George Davis all of Ohio.
Jessie cherished her time in Marblemount and made many wonderful and lasting friends. She especially loved her involvement in Children’s Orthopedic and the Upper Skagit Garden Club. She also served as President of the Marblemount PTA, Leader of the local Brownie Girl Scout Troop and worked with the Marblemount Community Club. Jessie was a member of the Eastern Star Cyrene Chapter 110 and a long time member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Funeral Services will be at Lemley Chapel in Sedro Woolley on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Marcus Stroud of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Concrete will officiating. Committal services will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete. A reception will follow the service at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
