Friday, April 14th, 2006

John Lee Wineck, 59, a longtime Washington resident, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2006 at United General Hospital in Sedro Woolley.
John was born on December 14, 1947 in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of Walter and Hilda Kangas Wineck.
Most of his adult life was spent as a heavy equipment operator in Alaska and Washington. His life was full of surprises and he was great at handling all situations, the good and bad. John was loved by many friends and adored by his family. He was extremely charismatic and a joy to know. John was known as an adventurer, always seeking a thrill. He found the good times and never let the bad hold him back. His favorite saying was "Tough times don’t last, tough people do". He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He will forever be in our hearts.
He is survived by a son, Tracey Wineck of Texas, a daughter, Rachel Paulding of Alaska, a sister, Nona of Washington, a brother, Walt of Alaska and grandchildren Ashley and Ostin Wineck of Texas.
Friends are invited to e-mail his daughter Rachel at zen1@gci.net. The family suggests memorials be made to the Skagit County Cancer Society c/o N. Puget Sound Oncology, 1415 E. Kincaid, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
