Joy J. Spurling, age 85, a former longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away Monday, December 5, 2005 in Tacoma, WA. She was born December 20, 1919 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the daughter of Albert and Lily Jones McDonald.
Joy was a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley and worked as a presser in the laundry and dry cleaning business. She was a member of Cascade Christian Church. Joy was married to Ernest Spurling on Sep 1, 1964 in Anacortes and he preceded her in death in October of 1999.
She is survived by her son Jerry Giesler and his wife Sharon of Spanaway, WA. A granddaughter Carmella Tomsyck and her daughter Rachel Tomsyck of Tacoma and two grandsons George Giesler of Spanaway and Jason Giesler of Puyallup. Two step-sons Kenneth Spurling of Silverdale and Larry Spurling of Idaho. Numerous step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest, a daughter Jeanice, and sisters Lois Brown and Violet Barcott.
Graveside Services will be Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 1:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Tim Farnham of the Cascade Christian Church officiating. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
