Judy L. Beck, age 69, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, Washington. She was born February 9, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John and Margaret Johnson Nordmark.
Judy grew up in Sedro-Woolley and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the Class of 1957. She was married to William E. McCarter and they began raising their family residing in Sedro-Woolley. He preceded her in death in 1967.
Judy worked as an Activities Director and Care Giver for Evergreen Terrace Convalescent Center in Mount Vernon for many years and later was Manager of Logan Creek Retirement Center.
She was married to Richard ‘Bub’ Beck in 1989 in Stanwood and has resided there till her passing. Judy enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren and loved babies and old people. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach, crafts, and researching genealogy.
She is survived by her husband Richard ‘Bub’ Beck of Stanwood. 2 daughters, Wendy Lynn Blanton and her husband Randy of Burlington and Jill Theresa McCarter of Kalispell, MT. 3 Step-children, Martin Marvin Beck and his wife Karen of Arlington, Michael Richard Beck and his wife Mandi of Mount Vernon, and Dawn Marie Beck of Burlington. 2 grandchildren, Gary Delano and his wife Liz of Sedro-Woolley and Taryn Staley and her husband Chris of Lake Stevens and numerous grandchildren, step- grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Her step-mother, Madelyn Nordmark of Sarasota, FL and a half-sister, Lisa Garcia and her husband Ray of Sarasota, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Jim Nordmark, and the father of her girls, William E. McCarter.
Memorial Services will be Friday, February 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Kevin Forquer of Salem Lutheran Church of Mount Vernon officiating. A reception will follow the services at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles. Memorials are suggested to the Skagit Valley Hospital Cancer Care Center in Mount Vernon.
