KEITH WAYNE COVERT, 68, a longtime resident of the upper Skagit Valley passed away unexpectedly at his home in Marblemount on Tuesday August 2, 2005.
He was born on September 7, 1936 in Longview, Washington, the son of John & Elora Koski Covert. As a boy his family moved to Seattle where Keith was raised and attended school.
In 1969 Keith moved to the Rockport area, commuting each day to Boeing where he worked as a parts expeditor for several years. He then got into the logging and shake industry mostly working as a ‘Shake Rat’ for many years. He then with his partner, Cathy Yacchetta started manufacturing BB-Q smoking chips with their business, Magic Skagit Smoking Chips.
Keith loved the upper Skagit Valley area where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing pool and attending and competing in BB-Q cook off competitions with Cathy. He was also a member of the Concrete Eagles, Aerie 1444.
He is survived by his 5 children, Debra Covert-Bowlds Chris of Ferndale, Denise Davis Bill of Lyman, Wayne Covert and Darren Covert, both of Cape Horn and John Covert Rhonda of Everett. The mother of his children, Norma Adams of Sedro-Woolley. 1 sister, Annette Lenore Tupper of Everett and a
