Kevin Craig Lee

Kevin Craig Lee

Monday, September 15th, 2014

Kevin Craig Lee, 53, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 15, 2014.

He was born on July 26, 1961 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the son of Henry “Douglas” and Mary (Schulze) Kirner.

Kevin grew up and graduated from Concrete High School in 1979.  After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and spent 16 years serving his country until retiring as a SGT in 1995.

For the last 17 years he has worked for A.T. System/Garda Armored trucks in Mount Vernon, WA.

In 1987 he fell in love and married his wife Ruby (Hunt) Lee, and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley.

Kevin was well known for giving to others before himself, he was a kind and generous man, and would give you the shirt off his back if need be. He spent many hours volunteering his time, and took pride in his memberships at the V.F.W. post 5056, American Legion post 43, both in Sedro-Woolley, and the M.O.C. in Bellingham.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee; daughter, Lisa Materne; mother, Mary Kirner; sisters, Ashley Gremmert (Kurt), Dee Kirner; grandchildren, Tony Barreiro, Jasmine Shope (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Allyson, and Melody Shope expected in January; and numerous family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Henry “Douglas” Kirner.

To so many people Kevin was the most kindhearted, respectable man you could come across in this world. To say he will be missed is an understatement. RIP SGT. Your war is finally over.

A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the  George Baldridge Post 43, American Legion  in  Sedro-Woolley, WA.

We just talked 2 weeks ago. I loved your bike, and you said I was the only brother you would go to LA with to ride. I took great Honor in that. If you were here with us today, I was Hotter than Catfish Grease. The day we met @ Post 1585, my first meeting, you let me know about the Ritual Team, and that I rated!!! A few years later, I was a member of the Ritual Team.

You allowed me into your inner circle, and I thank you. I have allowed very few people to tell me what to do.

To your family, I offer my condolences’.

    To me, Watch over Me!!!

    I LOVE YOU!!!

Kevin Lee was a true friend of mine since the 8th grade. He always had a smile or a word of encouragement to anyone who needed it. He never said anything bad or negative about anyone. Kevin served his country honorably as a US Army Soldier. I already miss him. Scott Jensen

Papa, you may have been our grandpa, but you always were and always will be so much more than that. We’ve been with you since we were born, you accepted responsibility as our legal guardian, and committed your life to us kids, our mom, and of course grandma. I will always see you as my dad,you were always there for us. the lessons you left with us will.never be forgotten. I only wish there was more time, so that I could learn even more from you and have more memories to hold onto and share. I love you so very much, my heart is eternally broken without you here. Thank you for the time you’ve spent with us, for taking care of us, and for loving us. You are not one in a million, you’re a once in a lifetime type of man. Youve touched so many lives,Im sure anyone you’ve come.encounter with would say the very same. The world will never be the same without you. I love you papa, please, rest peacefully.
