But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for He shall receive me. Psalm 49:15
Klazinus Cornelus (Clarence) De Kiewiet entered his heavenly home on August 26, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Clarence was born on July 26, 1937 in Monster, Holland. He was the son of Jacobus and Klazina De Kiewiet. The De Kiewiet family immigrated to southern California in 1952, where Clarence started working for a local dairy farmer as a milker. In 1959, he married Ellen Lemstra. They had two daughters while living in California. In 1967, the family moved to the Skagit Valley, where they were blessed with two more daughters. They had a dairy farm in Mount Vernon for the first five years, and then moved to Sedro-Woolley where they had a farm for many more years.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters, Marion Scott, Renee (Mike) Koerssen, Judy (Jody) Burke, and Julia (Ben) Loetscher; grandchildren, Tyler (Paige) Scott and Katie Scott, Brandon, Andrea, Travis, Matthew and Melissa Koerssen, Taylor, Jordan and Mackenzie Burke; great grandchildren, Leila and Theo Scott.
A time of visitation will be available from 9:00 to 11:00, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Lemley Chapel, 1008 Third Street, followed by a graveside service at 1:00, at Union Cemetery, and then a memorial service will be held at 3:00, at the United Reformed Church of Burlington, WA, 778 North Burlington Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make your donation to your favorite charity. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Northwest for their kindness and support.
