Lena M. Spanski, age 95, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at United General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born November 13, 1921 in Sumas, WA, to Frank and Elizabeth (Aufdermauer) Eberli. She moved to Sedro-Woolley at a young age. Lena and William E. Spanski were married June 27, 1942 in Sedro-Woolley. She was a homemaker all her life. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing Canasta and doing hand work and flower gardening. Her favorite activity was dancing, which she did into her 80’s. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Lena is survived by her children, Art and his wife, Judy Spanski, of Sedro-Woolley and Shirley and her husband, Gayle Brewer, of Longbranch, WA; grandchildren, Tyler Spanski, of Rancho Sahuarita, AZ, Dirk Spanski, of Sedro-Woolley, Erik Haws, of West Seattle, WA, Angela Oakley, of Claremont, CA; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband William; two sisters, Katherine Jones and Betty Ziebell; four brothers, Robert, Martin, George and Alfred Eberli.

A graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley. Please share your memories of Lena and sign the online guest register.
