Lillie Mae Self, age 101, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Burton Care Center in Burlington, WA.
She was born September 10, 1905 in Wolf Creek, Tennessee, the daughter of Nathan and Susie Hicks Talbert.
Lillie Mae grew up in Tennessee and was married to William H. Self in 1920 in Wolf Creek, TN. She and William moved to the Skagit Valley in 1945 residing in Hamilton. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and taking care of her grandchildren. Lillie Mae attended the Lyman Mission Church years ago and she loved to read the Bible and scripture; completely reading the Bible 252 times.
She is survived by her children; Calvin Self and his wife Faye of Hamilton, Homer Self and his wife Ovella of Hamilton, Ruth Osborne and her husband Willie of Harrisonburg, AK, David Self and his wife Leona of Sedro-Woolley, William L. Self and his wife Sharon of Sedro-Woolley, Lewis Self of Hamilton, Lillie Fretz and her husband Paul of Sedro-Woolley, Cecil Self and his wife Judy of Hamilton, and Jessie Self and his wife Wanda of Sedro-Woolley. A brother N.T. Presnell and his wife Marie of Burlington. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great -great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William in 1984, 4 sons; Conley, Sherrill, Samuel, and Charles, and 2 sisters; Birdie Welch and Luveni Fox.
Graveside Services will be Friday, August 24, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Hamilton Cemetery with Pastor James Cannon of Bethel Assembly of God Church officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Burtons Care Center for their special care of Lillie Mae.
