Linda Darlene Sanders, 65, a resident of Concrete, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 3, 2008.
She was born in Tennessee on June 11, 1942, the daughter of James & Mary Hooper Mefford and was raised and attended school in Sylva, North Carolina. In the early 1950’s the family moved to the upper Skagit Valley area and Linda attended and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1960.
After high school Linda made her home in Snohomish, WA and there she raised her sons.
She later met Donald Sanders and they were united in marriage on January 20, 1979 in Hamilton, WA and they made their home in Snohomish County for several years until moving to Burlington in 1995 and then to Concrete in 2005.
Linda enjoyed a variety of crafts, especially making jewelry from beads, working with stained glass and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Donald at the family home in Concrete. Her son, Clint Queen and his wife, Linda of Mount Vernon and Eric Queen of Burlington. Her mother, Mary Mefford of Birdsview. A brother, David Mefford and his wife, Debra of Concrete. 8 grandchildren, Sandra, Helen, Naomi, Annette, Bennie, Connie, Wayne and Megan and several great-grandchildren. A daughter-in-law, Ellen Queen. A nephew, James Mefford and a great-niece, Kaylie Mefford. Several foster children living in Snohomish County and several aunts, uncles and cousins in North Carolina.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Lemley Chapel.
Cremation arrangements and services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
