Lloyd Robert Jones, age 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at his home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington with his family at his side.
He was born on September 8, 1916 in Madera, California, the son of William and Dollie Chetum Jones.
Lloyd was a long time resident of California until moving to Sedro-Woolley in 1990.
He was united in marriage to Gladys James on May 13, 1937 in Stockton, CA.
Lloyd was a former owner and operator of a furniture store in Salinas, California and he loved selling furniture and serving people. Lloyd also worked in construction and worked at a Christian Conference Center.
He enjoyed gardening and has been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1952.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Gladys at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. 2 daughters, Kathleen Rose and Kristy Mason and her husband, Robert all of Sedro-Woolley. 7 grandchildren, Derrick Rose, Juli Rose, Rob Mason, Kari Cabales and her husband, Keith, Jennifer Backstrom and her husband, Glenn, Mark Jones, and Debra Jones, and a sister-in-law, Linda Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gary C. Jones in 1973.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Richard Coursen officiating. Private interment was at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church.
