Lois Mae Reichelt, 74, passed away at her assisted living home, Family Comfort in Sedro-Woolley, Washington on February 28, 2007.
Lois was born on May 23, 1932 in Mount Vernon, Washington, the daughter of Frank and Florence Cassidy Storie and was raised and attended schools in Mount Vernon, Washington and Seattle, Washington.
Lois was united in marriage to Edward H. Reichelt on March 29, 1953 in Seattle, and together they raised their family there. She was a stay-at-home mother until her 3 children were raised and then went to work for the City of Seattle for 15 years. She retired when her husband Ed became terminally ill with asbestosis and died of cancer on June 17, 1988. He was the love of her life. After her husband’s death, she relocated to Sedro-Woolley in 1988 to be close to her brother and his family. Soon after her relocation to Skagit County, her children relocated from West Seattle further up north to be closer to her. She loved her children, grandchildren and family. She enjoyed yard work, and spent a lot of time with her cat, Smokey. She loved to take short trips with her family and friends. She loved being around family and helping people that were in need of a helping hand.
Lois is survived by her son, Edward Reichelt and his wife, Gail of Snohomish, Washington. 2 daughters, Deborah A. White and her husband, Terry of Sedro-Woolley and Julie Ann Bagocki and her husband, Joe of Lake Stevens, Washington. Her 7 grandchildren, Anthony, Corey, and Brooke Reichelt of Lake Stevens, Tyler White of Sedro-Woolley, Jessi Bagocki of Lake Stevens, Joel Bagocki and his wife, Kat and Gered Bagocki and his wife, Deirdre living in the Seattle area and 1 great-grandchild, Joshua Bagocki.
Lois is also survived by her long dear and close family friend for many years, Wayne Drury of Sedro-Woolley and his 2 sons, Kevin and Jeff Drury.
She is also survived by her brother, William C. Storie and his wife, one of her dearest friends, Teedie Storie of Sedro-Woolley and their 5 children, Bill Storie and his wife Polly, Michelle Lomsdalen and her husband, Tony; Paul Storie, Stephanie Storie, and Scott Storie and his wife, Toni. Lois leaves behind many nieces and nephews located throughout the Seattle and Sedro-Woolley area. Lois is also survived by her long time friend and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Oss of Seattle, and her 3 children, Rick and Dave Oss, and Michelle Melgren and their children, and a close friend and former cousin-in-law, Kathy Storie.
Lois was preceded in death by and will be put to rest next to her loving husband, Edward Reichelt, his mother and father and her brother-in-law, Dick Oss in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Seattle.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 2:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wendy Tingley of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. A family get together will be held at her daughter Deb’s home located in Sedro-Woolley following the services.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Family Comfort for all their help and support during this difficult time. They were very loving and caring to our mother and showed respect for our mother during her 14 month stay at Family Comfort. Thank you so much for everything.
