Lynne Marie Armfield

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

Lynne Marie Armfield, 49, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident and a beloved daughter, mother, sweetheart, baby sister and ‘special angel’ to all she cared for, passed away at her home early Sunday morning, December 10, 2006, with her loved one’s at her side. She fought to the end, but lost her courageous battle against lung cancer.
She was born on August 10, 1957 in Sedro-Woolley, the fourth daughter of Albert & Shirley Allen Armfield and her three older sisters doted on her from that day on. She was raised in Sedro-Woolley where she attended school except for a few years at Thorne Bay, Alaska and Pacific Beach, Washington.
Lynne was a devoted mother, and while raising her 2 sons, she operated a day care in her home to help provide for them. She later worked in housekeeping at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon for several years until she began working for Visiting Nurses as a in home adult care provider, a job she enjoyed. The people she cared for just adored her and she had such compassion for them all. When she wasn’t working or with family she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, scrap booking, and playing bingo and cards, Pinochle was one of her favorites. She also had a knack for making silk flower arrangements for decorating her home or giving away to friends or relatives.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley & Clarice Tiny Allen and Raymond & Erie Jane Armfield and one paternal uncle, Raymond Van Armfield.
Lynne is survived by her 2 sons, Kennith Sweeney and his companion, Shannon McCarver and Albert Jorgensen, all of Sedro-Woolley. 1 baby grandson, Jonah Sweeney. Her parents, Albert & Shirley Armfield of Sedro-Woolley. Her special companion, Pete Cruz of Sedro-Woolley. 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen & Phillip Adams of Sedro-Woolley, Joyce & Richard Bryant of Hoquiam, WA and Debbie & Mike Fernie of Sedro-Woolley. Her step-children, Jerry & Laurie Bodily and their 4 sons of Vernal, Utah, Jeanna & Norm Cadle and their 3 children of Sedro-Woolley and Raylene Bodily of Bellingham. Two uncles, William R. Armfield and Wes Allen and his wife, Peggy of Sedro-Woolley, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
The family suggest memorials be made to Skagit Hospice or Visiting Nurses.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship in Sedro-Woolley.
Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
