Mae ‘Mombo’ Hoffman, 90, passed away at her home in Big Lake, WA with her family at her side on Friday, May 18, 2007.
She was born January 11, 1917 in Montborne, WA, the daughter of Richard and Julia Terwillegar Cantlin.
Mae resided at Big Lake from 1947 to 1969 when she moved to Tombstone, AZ, residing there for 30 years, until returning to Big Lake 7 years ago.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Hoffman in 1934 and they were married for 50 years until he preceded her in death in 1984.
Mae enjoyed gardening, sewing, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Virginia Govern of Big Lake and Nola Berg and her husband, Kurt of Mustang Corners, AZ. Her 3 sons, Kenneth Hoffman and his wife, Gloria of Big Lake, Harold Hoffman of Bellingham and Tom Hoffman of Goodyear, AZ. 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; her 3 brothers, Richard, John and Tom Cantlin, and her 3 sisters, Julia Bailey, Mary Ammons and Francis Nersten.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 1:30 PM at the Richardson’s Benson Mortuary in Benson, AZ with interment to follow in the Tombstone Cemetery in Tombstone, AZ. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Big Lake Community Church of the Nazarene. Memorials are suggested to the Big Lake Community Church of the Nazarene.
