Margie Binschus

Saturday, December 17th, 2005

MARGIE BINSCHUS, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend went to her final home, where the Lord was waiting to welcome her on Saturday, December 17, 2005 in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Margie was 74 years of age.
She was born on October 5, 1931 in Marblemount, WA, the daughter of James Calvin Denny and Addie Bell Denny Parsons. Margie lived in Marblemount her entire life and attended school there. During her recent illness, she resided with her daughter Ann in Burlington.
She was united in marriage to Fawnie Ward Binschus on February 2, 1951 in Sedro-Woolley, WA. Together they built their family home near the Cascade River in Marblemount. And a family home it was. Margie was a homemaker and mother of five children. Her family meant everything to her. Her warmth, laughter and smile greeted everyone that entered her front door and life. People who met her will never forget her generosity and loving ways. Her devotion and love for her husband Fawnie lasted for 54 years.
Margie loved family gatherings where her famous culinary skills were demonstrated. No one left her home hungry. Together Fawnie and Margie planted and maintained a large garden. On her trips down river during harvest time, her car was filled with the fruits of their labor for her family. She enjoyed country and gospel music and was often heard singing softly as she worked or relaxed. Her love of nature in and around the Cascade Mountains stayed with her always. Her love of her savior, Jesus Christ, maintained her strength throughout her life and final days.
She is survived by her husband, Fawnie of Marblemount and their five children; Fred L. Binschus and his wife, Julie of Alger, WA, Ann Vollans and her husband, Chris of Burlington, John W. Binschus of Anacortes, Jim A. Binschus of Sedro-Woolley, and Larry E. Binschus and his wife, Carrie of Burlington. Additionally, she is survived by 10 grandchildren; Tammy, Tonya, Trisha, Brad, Joni, Eric, Lacy, Amber, Ty, and Travis and 4 great- grandchildren; Trevor, Kelsey, Alyssa, and Malia. One brother, Theo Denny of Marblemount, WA and four sisters, Lola Johnson of Birdsview, WA, Dorothy Fink and Gladys Stringfield of Sedro-Woolley, WA and Mary Hedman of Cresbard, SD. Also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Claudie Binschus.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Michael Osborne of the Hamilton Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles at the corner of Metcalf and Warner.
