Melvin Anthony Koster, age 80, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008 at his home in Sedro-Woolley, WA with his family at his side. He was born December 25, 1927 in Lansing, Illinois to John and Anna Laarman Koster.
Melvin was married to Ruth Kazen in August of 1948 and they resided in Silvana where he operated a dairy farm for 30 years until her passing in March of 1972. He was married to Charlene Dahl on September 25, 1976 at the Cedarhome Baptist Church in Stanwood and they resided in the Stanwood and Lake Goodwin areas until moving to Sedro-Woolley 11 years ago.
Melvin enjoyed fishing, wood working, playing golf, and traveling. He was a member of Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship of Sedro-Woolley. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. Melvin will be remembered for passing a great Christian heritage to his family.
Melvin is survived by his wife Charlene Koster of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His son’s; Gary Koster and his wife Deyanne of Stanwood, John Koster and his wife Vicki of Arlington, Bill Koster and his wife Cathy of Arlington, Dale Dahl and his wife Donna of Bremerton, and a daughter, Dellene Dahl of Sedro-Woolley. 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, John and Eugene Koster and a sister Josephine Wagner.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11:00AM at the Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship on Hwy 20 in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Steve Fish officiating.
